英文『我估计』不用 I think 和 I guess，还能怎么说？

很多同学都知道，如果我们想用英文表达一句话，不能和中文去一一直译，而是要用英语思维，这样说出的话才地道。

比如当我们想说“我估计…”时，就要结合整个句子的意思来表达，就像我们下面内容里提到的那两句。

我们继续本周美剧《摩登家庭》的讲解。剧情来到Claire被Sanjay的妈妈惹恼，Alex和Sanjay准备进行比赛…

情景对话：

Sanjay’s Mom: Yes, we’re very impressed with how much Alex has been able to accomplish given her background.

Claire: You know what? You’re right. Let’s settle this out on the track.

Principal: All right. Coach Tucker, I’m assuming we can count on you to officiate.

……

对话中，Principal说了一句：

“I’m assuming we can count on you to officiate. 我想这得你来担任裁判了。”

这里有两个很棒的知识点：

I’m assuming…

我估计，我想…，我觉得

根据现在这个事实，推断出来接下来要发生什么、事实如何，就可以用 I’m assuming… 来表达。

例句一：

A: I only got one ticket. 我只有一张票。

B: I’m assuming your girlfriend won’t be coming. 我估计你女朋友不会来。

例句二：

I’m assuming this place won’t be that good based on what I’ve heard. 根据我听说来的话，我估计这地方好不到哪里去。

对话中还有一个知识点：

Count on someone

指望某人

比如 count on me，count on you

例句一：

You can count on me to get the job done. 你可以指望我把这份工作完成。

例句二：

I’m counting on you to help me move this weekend. 我指望你这周末帮我搬家。
