2020 INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION

The International Music Festival and Competition (IMFC) provides musicians of all ages opportunities to perform, to conduct and to write music while receiving professional guidance by leading professionals in the classical music industry in Canada.

The 2020 IMFC will take place from March 21 to April 5 at Cornell Recital Hall in Markham (Ontario, Canada) and it will offer adjudication in piano, strings, voice, guitar, woodwinds, brass, harp, percussion, chamber music, conducting and composition.

Members of the Jury panel are esteemed professors and musicians from the University of Toronto (Dr. Enrico Elisi, piano; Dr. Jeffrey McFadden, guitar; Dr. Conrad Chow and Andrew Ascenzo, strings), York University (Prof. Christina Petrowska-Quilico, piano), the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (Gary Kulesha, composer), Kindred Spirits Orchestra (Maestro Kristian Alexander) as well as harpists Dr. Angela Schwarzkopf and Dr. Andrew Chan, mezzo-soprano Margarete von Vaight, and wind instruments pedagogue Michael Fedyshyn.

At least 50 Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallions, as well as various Prizes and Scholarships will be awarded at the Gala Concert, on Saturday, June 12, 2020 at 8 p.m. at Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. Students and young professionals of all nationalities, ages, levels, and musical disciplines are invited to apply at InterMusic.ca before February 2, 2020.
