The Cross-Cultural Community Services Association (TCCSA) is a not-for-profit organization that aims to
facilitate the well-being of diversified communities through social services.
TCCSA is seeking four (4) youth to fill the Canada Summer Jobs positions to assist with programs in our four
service locations in Markham, Mississauga, Scarborough and Toronto.
Terms & Conditions:
• Salary: $14 per hour
• Work hours: Hours may vary from 17.5 to 35 hours per week for a total of 280 hours per position
with various duration.
Positions:
TCCSA – York Centre: 3636 Steeles Avenue East, Unit 213A, Markham
Job Title: Community Services Assistant (File # CSJ20-01)
Duration: July 6, 2020 to August 28, 2020 (35 hours per week for 8 weeks)
Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and implementation of community connections activities such as summer camp,
English Conversation Circle, homework clubs for newcomer children and youth;
• Help program participants engage and participate in community connections activities;
• Prepare promotional materials such as program flyers;
• Conduct community outreach and programs/services promotion;
• Provide clerical and administrative support.
TCCSA – Toronto Centre: 302 Spadina Avenue, Unit 206, Toronto
Job Title: Admin/Settlement Services Assistant (File # CSJ20-02)
Duration: July 13, 2020 to October 16, 2020 (20 hours per week for 14 weeks)
Responsibilities:
• Perform and provide administrative support such as answering phone calls, printing, photocopying,
and filing;
• Greet newcomer clients and help to schedule one-on-one appointments;
• Register clients for agency programs;
• Assist in planning and delivering program activities;
• Provide support to the team during workshops and activities;
• Assist in updating and maintaining agency database.
TCCSA – Scarborough Centre: 325 Bamburgh Circle, Unit A107, Scarborough
Job Title: Community Services Assistant (File # CSJ20-03)
Duration: July 6, 2020 to October 09, 2020 (20 hours per week for 14 weeks)
Responsibilities:
• Provide the support to the Senior Support Group;
• Assist in planning and implementation of program activities;
• Help with updating information about resources and services in the community;
• Some of the work will be done online/remotely.
TCCSA – Peel Centre: 720 Burnhamthorpe Road West, Unit 2, Mississauga
Job Title: Community Services Assistant (File # CSJ20-04)
Duration: July 6, 2020 to August 28, 2020 (35 hours per week for 8 weeks)
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Community Connections / Youth Worker in planning and organizing in-person as well as
online programs;
• Assist with research on available access to appropriate services in the community;
• Provide clerical and administrative support;
• Some of the work will be done online / remotely.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Be between the age of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the start of employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred
under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
• Be legally entitled to work in accordance with Ontario legislation and regulations;
• Ability to work flexible hours as required;
• Must commit to full contract duration;
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, ability to communicate in a second language commonly
used by clientele a strong asset;
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Able to work independently and be a good team player;
• Able to multi-task and set priorities;
• Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and data entry/management;
• A clear, mandatory Vulnerable Sector Screening-Police Reference Check.
